End of Term : End of Nine Years
This is how I felt this morning…
… a calm and happy Librain
Well, The Librain is a lot slimmer and younger than her creator! The little dragon is her daemon.
This is how I feel now…
… a really ANGRY Librain
So that is all I am worth to teachers after so many years – zilch!
- Why did I stay up late at night, working to finish things for them for the next day?
- Why did I let them book in at the last minute?
- Why did I try to learn cutting edge stuff to help them?
- Why did I write teaching materials and get them ready for observed lessons, when I had other things I needed to do?
- Why do I feel so unappreciated?
I did it for the kids…
… and for the kids I will do it again…

It is the kids we do it for, and will do it for again, because it is their futures we are investing in. But you have made such a difference to us fellow librarians, and just because we couldn’t be there in person to give you a farewell party and a present, don’t think for one minute that all your hard work, advice and Web 2.0 resources haven’t been appreciated. I used Strongest Links only this morning to find out some vital information that I knew you would have the link to – so consider yourself virtual partied and hugged. – Caroline x
Thank-you Caroline, that is so kind of you. Librain
School librarians often wear an Invivibility Cloak when the thank yous are handed out. When I left my previous job after 10 years I got nothing – not even a card. The only person who recognised my work was the librarian in the senior school.
But as Caroline says you are greatly valued by your fellow librarians for all your work, advice and ideas and we are cheering you on.
Have a good summer
Jenny
